RAHE GHANA Donates Project Items to the Municipal Education Office for onward distribution to the 10 basic schools adopted under the Menstrual Hygiene Management Project in the Awutu Senya East Municipal.
The project items are to used for stocking the welfare counselling rooms established in the schools. The materials include sanitary napkins, first aid kits, handwashing soap, buckets, dust bins, mattresses, pillow, bed spread and water basins. The welfare counselling rooms will be used as changing rooms and resting place for girls and female teachers who experience menstruation and some menstrual discomforts during school sessions.
Other set of items donated were tools and materials to be used for the Skills Training Program aimed at impacting the expertise of sewing the reusable sanitary pads among 1000 adolescent school girls.
The tools and materials are sewing machines, flannel sheets, towels, sewing kits, cardboard, papers, markers and pencils.
RAHE GHANA believes these materials will go a long way to create healthy condition for women and girls to utilize safe materials and water to clean themselves and to properly disposed off used sanitary materials in privacy and dignity.
